BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Reports to Sales Team Leader

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help us expand our clientele. You will be the front of the company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy.

The Business Development Manager, under the direction of the UK Sales Team Leader, is primarily responsible for building key customer relationships with new and existing clients. The Business Development Manager will work with staff from various departments to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue.

Key to this role will be prospecting for new business opportunities to increase overall business growth. Also the BDM will manage existing clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retain business. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.

Job Duties

  • Prospect within a defined market or geographic area to ensure continual opportunities for business growth
  • Identify business opportunities, generate leads, and seek out partnerships
  • Find and win new opportunities within complex multi-stakeholder accounts
  • Manage existing clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and retain business
  • Negotiate and close business deals
  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Strategic planning to grow business within the targeted territory and identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased sales
  • Conduct research to identify potential clients

Requirements

  • Experience with optical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical capital equipment products preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience in a related industry
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning, and implementation skills
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, and facts
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • A well-defined sense of teamwork and collaboration, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Proven working experience and track record as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Proficiency in English
  • BSc in Engineering/Physics/Optics preferred

 

Work ConditionsMain focus will be sales in the UK and Ireland. Be able to support other sales worldwide. Overnight and local travel up to 15 days per month.

 

 

 

 

 

INTERNATIONAL MARKETING COORDINATOR 

 

Reports to Global Strategic Marketing Manager 

Purpose:       

 Working in the Sales & Marketing Department to create and manage marketing communications for the global market, monitor their effectiveness and advise on future direction. Increase market knowledge by collating information from customers and distributors; and enabling colleagues and partners to access information and marketing materials easily and in a timely manner.  

 

Key Duties:

  • Preparation of marketing communications for Prior products, including; data sheets, brochures, training guides, manuals, presentations, sales aids, and PR.
  • Manage the Prior UK website content, updating and adding product and applications information.  Maintaining the product configurator.
  •   Collate competitor information from all available sources
  •  Create and manage marketing campaigns using appropriate metrics to measure and analyse their effectiveness
  •  Plan, book and manage all aspects of trade show attendance
  •  Attendance at tradeshows may be required
  • Create, manage and maintain distributor resources files, including their circulation
  •  Publish regular technical and commercial product update to sales and distribution channels
  • Creation of applications papers, working closely with customers and colleagues
  • Help with conducting market research campaigns
  • Work with confidential information: prices, margins, new product development programs, and other similar commercial information.

​No direct reports, however, the role requires close working with many others:

o   Working with all the staff in the sales department, R&D, and production

o   Liaise with sales and marketing staff in other Prior offices; USA, Germany, Japan and China.

o   Liaise with media companies and other suppliers

  • Assist sales teams and Sales Administrators, as required
  •  Any other duties as required

 

Person Specification:

  • BSc in Technical / Scientific subject desirable but not essential
  •  Content Management system experience essential, word press CMS desired
  • HTML skills desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Attention to detail, layout and design
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft word, excel, power point, photo shop elements and InDesign
  • Good listening and questioning skills
  • Numerate; competent with basic data analysis in Excel
  • Analytical with the ability to assimilate data and communicate in a clear concise manner
  • Ideally has downstream marketing experience
